EEIAC ANNOUNCES CERTIFICATION OF EXHIBITION INDUSTRY BUSINESSES

EEIAC Sets Industry Standards for Quality Service

Dallas, Texas, November 2, 2005 — The Exhibition and Event Industry Audit Commission (EEIAC) announces that BPA Worldwide of Shelton, Connecticut has been certified as the first provider of EEIAC audits in North America.

According to EEIAC procedures, a firm that wishes to participate in the industry-wide attendance certification program is obligated to apply for standing with EEIAC. Those, like BPA Worldwide, who apply for certification must provide documentation as to their competence to perform independent audits; must agree in advance to conform to EEIAC published standards for the conduct of tradeshow or consumer event audits, and must provide copies of actual completed audits. Recertification is required each calendar year.

Once a provider has been certified, exhibitions and events that it audits are eligible to display the “EEIAC Certified” service mark.

David Korse, Chairman of the Board of EEIAC says, “Given the impressive track record the BPA Worldwide has established in the arena of media and event audits, along with its sterling reputation for the quality of its work, all of us at EEIAC are delighted to learn that BPA Worldwide has qualified to become our first certified provider. We expect that this will be a cornerstone event for the North American exhibition and events industry and marks a new and important era when the expectation will be that all major events will publish their independent attendance audits.”

Several additional providers of audit services have applied for EEIAC certification.

Steven Hacker says, “We have established this independent organization to help set industry standards and provide guidance to businesses in our industry.  These rules and regulations will only raise the quality of service but also acknowledge businesses who seek to be the best in the industry.”
