IAEM Publishes 2005
Expo! Expo! Attendance Audit
Dallas, 9 February 2006 – The
International Association for Exhibition Management (IAEM) has
released the results of its official attendance audit for the 2005
Expo! Expo! IAEM’s Annual Meeting & Exhibition held 29 November – 1
December in Atlanta, Ga. The audit was conducted by Exhibit Surveys,
Inc. in accordance with standards set by the Exhibition and Event
Industry Audit Commission (EEIAC).
The audit reveals a 20 percent increase in attendance over last
year’s Expo! Expo! with 1,992 attendees in 2005 versus 1,662
attendees in 2004. Show organizers comprised 54 percent of
attendees, while exhibitors made up 39 percent. New IAEM members
accounted for 13.5 percent of attendees and 24 percent attended
Expo! Expo! for the first time. Upper- and mid-level management
represented 83 percent of attendees.
The regional break down shows that Atlanta drew 36.3 percent of its
audience from the South Atlantic; 11.8 percent from the North
Atlantic; 16.6 percent from North Central; 17.2 percent from
Mountain/Pacific; and 7.1 percent from other nations.
